Holidays In Sharm El Sheikh Egypt
What do you think about the situation in Egypt? Should we believe all the scaremongering?
Ive recently been on holiday in Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh) and although family members warned me not to go because it is ‘so dangerous’ there at the moment with the political instability, I found it peaceful and welcoming. I actually felt safer there than in the UK. When I spoke to the locals about safety in Egypt etc they said not to believe all the scaremongering in the news about Egypt in the West and that its all rubbish. What do you think about all this, was I just lucky or is it true that its all rubbish?
Sharm El Sheikh is an artificial construct. Yes, even the old market area is only a few years old. It was constructed in an isolated place specifically to earn Tourist revenue. Their are no Local Egyption family communities there. Mainly men “shipped ” in to supply the tourist trade. This is not seeing Egypt. You were only allowed to see and hear what “they” wanted you to. Everyone is controlled and those “nice” tourist police would have beaten anyone to death for being a “traitor” if they had given you anything of a meaningfull insight into what is really going on there. I believe that a lot of the Hotels and business are owned by the army. Of course the troubles have hurt the tourist economy and jobs there. I would have thought that if the Lack of adherence to their Human rights charter by those with the power to abuse, tourtue, detain people illegally at will indeffinitly without any means of redress to see those punished and brought to trial for henious crimes which include, the systamatic murder of Copts ,kidnapping and rape of Coptic girls, burning of churches, the list is endless. If this and the unimaginably barbaric brainwashing and tortue both physical and mental going on was not enough to put you off then I would have thought that their lack of appropriate response to people being bitten and some killed by sharks In Sharm would have done it for me! Read about Coptic christians and their persicuted history in their own country (Coptic means Egyptian) Its hard to equate it with England. Mabaracks governments state run tv was showing quiet streets in Ciro while the BBC was showing the true murder of citizens on the streets! You don’t have to take my word for any of this. Can anyone recommend a Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh that’s close to the beach,& near shopping & abit of nightlife?
Looking for a Nice 4/5* All Inclusive Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, looking at going Oct/Nov/Dec time that is close to the beach, not right in the middle of the nightlife but a pleasant stroll to it.
